Chelvey Unfrocked is an eccentric portrait of an extraordinary house and its contents. Forty years ago architect Keith and artist Katy Hallett bought semi-derelict CHELVEY COURT - a remarkable Stuart (Jacobean) country house whose odd history has kept its antiquity in aspic. 

They are fascinated with duality and juxtaposition and most comfortable in a state of constant exploration, devouring influences and inspirations, mastering techniques and traditions as they go. Throughout the film can be seen examples of their work as well as an obsession with chairs and extraordinary toys, machines and objects.
